Systematically integrating gender dimensions into the research process
Taking gender aspects into account is essential for excellence in research. GinF is comitted to systematically reviewing research projects to identify where gender dimensions are relevant, and integrating them where approriate. Thereby, gender becomes a natural and integral part of scientific practice. Gender is seen intersectionally, in order to include all its complex interactions with other dimensions of diversity.

Anchoring aspects of gender structurally within science
GinF aims to establish gender dimensions as an integral part of good scientific practice and to anchor them into research structures. In order to develop together viable approaches across disciplines and throughout all qualification phases, GinF seeks continuous exchange with university decision-makers, scientists and science management staff. GinF supports larger research groups as well as individual scientists through tailor-made events and individual consulting services that take into account subject-specific cultural characteristics and the requirements of individual career phases.

Integrating gender and diversity dimensions into innovation and transfer processes
GinF stands for the active integration of gender aspects into science and technology transfer. The project aims to ensure that innovations and research results benefit everyone—regardless of gender and other dimensions of diversity. Targeted consulting and awareness-raising promote inclusive innovations and diversity-oriented perspectives on transfer processes.
Who is GinF for?
360° – Gender in Research is aimed at all researchers and disciplines at Hamburg's universities. We develop needs-based services tailored to different academic cultures and career stages. By working together with all the partner universities of the Hamburg Research Academy (HRA) and the Zentrum Gender & Diversity (ZGD), we provide comprehensive and targeted support.
All fields and subjects
Gender is a category relevant to all subjects, but not to all in the same way. That is why 360° takes into account the specific subject matter and culture of each different research topic and field.
All career levels
GinF's services are aimed at professors as well as researchers in qualification phases.
All partner universities
GinF cooperates with ten partner universities in Hamburg.
> University of Hamburg (UHH) > Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW HH) > Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) > Hamburg University of Music and Drama (HfMT) > University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK) > HafenCity University (HCU) > Helmut Schmidt University (HSU) > Bucerius Law School (BLS) > Evangelische Hochschule (EHS) > Kühne Logistics University (KLU)
